Breast cancer preventable with gentle exercises
Thousands of cases of bowel and breast cancer can be prevented if people exercise on a regular basis, according to a recently concluded research.
The World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF) said that even 45 minutes of household chores could be more than substantial for preventing cancer.
From Timesofindia.indiatimes.com:
Rachel Thompson of WCRF said people should aim to be physically active for at least half an hour every day.
“There is now very strong evidence that being physically active is important for cancer prevention,” the Scotsman quoted her as saying.
“Even relatively modest increases in activity levels could prevent thousands of cancer cases in the UK every year.
These figures also show you do not have to go to the gym every day to benefit.
You can reduce your cancer risk just by making small changes, and this is highlighted by the fact that so many cancer cases could be prevented through something as simple as brisk walking,” she said.
Henry Scowcroft of Cancer Research UK said there is solid evidence to suggest that certain cancers are less common in individuals who do regular, moderate exercises like brisk walking.
