Mammograms Not Useful For Reducing Breast Cancer Death Toll
A controversial report has warned that the Breast Cancer Screening Program does not save women’s lives.
This finding was revealed by Danish researchers in a study published in the Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine.

Regular mammograms have had little impact in reducing the numbers of tumours diagnosed very late, which are often terminal.
Although breast cancer deaths have fallen dramatically in recent decades, researchers argue that this is due to more advanced treatments and women becoming better at checking their breasts.
Since the NHS’ Breast Cancer Screening Programme was launched in 1988, all women aged 50 to 69 have been invited to attend a mammogram at their local hospital every three years to check for tumours.
The programme, which costs the Government £100 million annually, has been credited with saving 1,400 lives every year and spotting 100,000 tumours since its launch
