Are Antidepressants worth any benefits?

Are Antidepressants worth any benefitsIf you ask a medical practitioner, you will come to know that there is no concrete reason why so many people are making use of antidepressants. While some were advised these drugs for a short span of time, they ignored medical advice after being addicted to them. The usefulness of antidepressants is often an issue of debate and not for worthless reasons. First of all, most of the people or companies running the studies on antidepressants are those people and companies who make them. Bad results will mean loss of hundreds of million of dollars and wasted years of research and development and this is why results are often manipulated to induce potential users.

The fact that new antidepressants are getting released into the market before being tested for long clearly suggests that their manufacturers want to avoid the risk of picking up annoying and sales-lowering side effects besides saving operational costs. These are two of the biggest reasons why long term risks are ignored by antidepressant manufacturers.

Since antidepressants can lead to severe side effects such as suicide tendencies, increased aggression, nausea, sexual dysfunction, and restlessness to name a few, they are best avoided.

In short, if you do not love yourself or like your near ones to be happy then go with antidepressants else it is highly recommended to lead a happy and peaceful life, away from antidepressants.
